5. Verify the *Emergency Bin and Main Ballot Compartment/Boxes
are Empty
a. Cut seals and use the Flat Silver Key to unlock/lock both
compartments.
b. Remember to open your Blue Ballot Tote!
c. Once verified that they are empty, shut and lock the Main Ballot
compartment.
d. Apply new seals to each compartment
e. The silver plate on the Emergency Bin needs to be closed “in the
up position” unless being used due to power outages or issues
with the scanner. Seal the Emergency Bin at the end of Election
Night.

7. Use the flat Silver Key to unlock the DS200 Lid
a. The Lid has Hydraulic Hinges. HANDLE WITH EASE
b. Guide with one hand while opening
c. Do not FORCE the lid to open or close.
d. Place latches in upwards position

8. Use the flat Barrel Key to unlock the display screen
a. Flip up the screen and the DS200 will
automatically power up
b. If the DS200 does not automatically power up, unlock the access
door on the left with the barrel key, and press the
power button. Lock the access door.
